Anorgasmia
Anorgasmia is the lack of ability to reach orgasm, or discovering that orgasms are significantly more difficult to achieve or less intense than they previously were. It can be circumstantial (only in certain circumstances) or generalized (happening consistently). It is more common than most women think, and it becomes even more common after menopause.
Hormonal changes play a substantial role: decreasing estrogen and testosterone reduce genital sensitivity and blood flow, both of which affect the ability to orgasm. Psychological factors such as stress, relationship dynamics, and body image also play a role. Treatment depends on the underlying cause but can include hormone therapy, pelvic floor physical therapy, changes to sexual technique, and sometimes counseling. Anorgasmia is treatable, and you do not have to see it as your permanent reality.
